Despite having more than 550 car park spaces, the retail park noticed that unauthorised users were regularly leaving their vehicles for extended periods of time and going elsewhere. This resulted in a lack of space for genuine shoppers, especially during peak times at weekends, and impacted negatively on the overall customer experience.
How we solved it
Maximum stay parking introduced
Having consulted closely with the centre, we proposed a maximum stay parking solution that has deterred unauthorised users from taking advantage of the free parking provision. Shoppers can park freely for up to four hours, with an option to pay for extra time. A flexible permit system is also available for employees who need to park for the duration of their shifts.
