At Creative Car Park we’re always looking for ways to improve the accuracy of our enforcement systems while keeping things fair for genuine motorists.
This aim is reflected in our best-in-class appeals process results from POPLA, the UK’s independent appeals service for Parking Charge Notices (PCNs) issued on private land. Our total win rate leads the industry, underlining our determination to “get it right” for our clients and their car park users.
One common challenge we encounter is when drivers enter their vehicle registration details incorrectly when setting up a permit or exemption on-site.
Previously, our system used wider ‘fuzzy rules’ to account for typos. While this prevented unfair PCNs in some cases, it also meant that some genuine contraventions were excluded.
We’ve now carefully refined these rules to strike a better balance. Our system will still recognise small, genuine input errors – such as a single-character typo, or easy-to-make swaps like ‘0’ for ‘O’, or ‘1’ for ‘I’ – but it will now recognise larger mistakes.
In summary, this means:
- More accurate PCN issuance – reducing missed enforcement.
- Fewer unnecessary cancellations – saving time for your team.
- A fairer process for motorists – ensuring genuine mistakes are not penalised.
We believe these changes will help ensure enforcement is both effective and fair, protecting your parking policy while also improving operational efficiency.
