New ANPR Parking Management for Thurmaston Shopping Centre

Shopping couldn’t be more relaxed and stress-free with one of Leicester’s largest retail parks offering 4 hours free parking to shoppers.

Creative Car Park had the answer for Thurmaston Shopping Centre to tackle vehicles which exceeded the 4-hour limit or parked at the centre for purposes other than shopping: ANPR (Automatic Number Plate Recognition). Creative installed a bespoke ANPR system which identifies vehicles when they enter and leave the car park, ensuring that offending motorists are pinpointed allowing genuine shoppers to park with ease.

The lengthy free parking offers ample time to shoppers to visit the major retailers, such as Next, TK Maxx and Outfit (which includes Topshop and Dorothy Perkins), and food outlets on offer.

Alun Marks, a spokesman for Creative Car Park says

“With our effective ANPR system, the retail park provides a great shopping experience whilst ensuring that parking is readily available and accessible for all genuine shoppers. 4 hours is plenty of time for any shopper to visit the multitude of stores available and even get a bite to eat. The ANPR system encourages constant traffic into the retail park but it also reduces the amount of vehicles that take advantage of the free parking facility through issuing parking charge notices.”
